I had so much fun with Mona Lisa, that I had to do the other LeeDolls as they become available!
I am very happy with the final outcome!
I made the following changes to Van Gogh...
- Embroidered the eyes to match the portrait.
- Embroidered the injured ear lobe with dark red floss (of course this is hidden by the bandage).
- Adjusted the head pattern to slightly narrow the cheeks because he looks so gaunt in the portrait.
- Adjusted the body pattern to lengthen the torso, broaden the shoulders, and narrow the hips.
- Adjusted the arm pattern to make the upper arms slightly thicker.
- Adjusted the white shirt and green coat pattern to accommodate the changes to the body.
- Felted eyebrows
- Used material from another bandage as the included gauze was too short to go around the head and was coming unraveled.
Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring is up next!
I got this kit for Christmas because it combines my two favorite things-sewing and stuffing. I'm an experienced sewer and wanted to try something new by making stuffed doll. This was something I enjoyed a lot and gave me something to do for a couple days.
My daughter loved watching me sewing this doll! I also started teaching her how to sew. This is the perfect combination of both.
A great doll kit with pattern and all the fabric needed to make a finished doll. The instructions were detailed including photos that were easy to follow. Packaged well. Thank you.
We love craft projects. This one was a hit!
