Thread lengths not accurate

I bought a Picotin bag and have followed the thread lengths correctly. However I have found the measurement was not long enough for the buckle straps. I have not finished the bag so don't know about the base, the handles or the sides yet.

Lovely & Fun Project - ADHD approved

Managed to finish in 3 days. I've always wanted to try my hand at leather crafts. This purse and its design was inspired by a brand I REALLY wanted to buy from but had to save for it. And for Popsewing to offer it at a fraction of the price but you have to make it yourself...I was more than willing to try. The tutorial was intimidating at first but after rewatching and following along, it was easy to understand.

Made this bag in about five days, and it looks so nice. The leather is soft and firm at the same time. The blue color is wonderful and will go with just about anything. Every piece was of superior quality and put together looks so professional. Looking forward to using the smile purse.
